East Carolina was in position to hand North Carolina State a surprising loss when the Pirates got the ball back late down one, not to mention offer Daffer a shot at redemption after he missed the tying extra point attempt after Rahjai Harris’ short touchdown run. at No. 16 Miami 70, Bethune-Cookman 13: Henry Parrish rushed for 108 yards and three touchdowns, Tyler Van Dyke passed for two more scores and the Hurricanes made Mario Cristobal a winner in his debut game as Miami’s coach. Miami rushed for seven touchdowns, piled up 582 yards of offense and turned three takeaways into touchdowns. Thaddeus Franklin rushed for two scores, while Devon Perry and Terrell Walden II also ran for touchdowns for the Hurricanes. Rutgers 22, at Boston College 21: Al-Shadee Salaam scored on a 22-yard run with 2:43 to play, lifting Rutgers to a comeback victory. Rutgers had lost the last 11 meetings against Boston College, which holds a 20-7-1 edge in the series.
