Action plan aims to protect Yellow River
Chinese authorities unveiled a plan on conserving the Yellow River, the country’s second longest, on Aug 31, saying 2,700 square miles of degraded natural forest would be restored and almost 5,400 square miles of land suffering from desertification in its basin would be treated by 2025. Aside from measures for ecological conservation and remediation, the action plan also listed water pollution control as one of the priorities in protecting the Yellow River.
