NFL to update concussion protocol

- Wire reports

The NFL is prepared “to make a change or two” to its concussion protocol, Commissioner Roger Goodell said Saturday at a fan forum in London as the league faces questions about how the Miami Dolphins handled quarterback Tua Tagovailoa’s recent injuries.

The commissioner took questions only from fans ahead of Sunday’s exhibition at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and wasn’t made available to reporters. The league did not elaborate on what the potential protocol changes are or when they could come into effect.

On Friday, the NFLPA urged the league to implement changes in time to protect players in this weekend’s games.

Denver quarterback Russell Wilson received a platelet-rich plasma injection to alleviate discomfort near his throwing shoulder, the NFL Network reported.
