Armageddon Time

A big-hearted coming-of-age story set in Queens, New York. Paul Graff is growing up in a warm and rowdy family that includes his grandfather, who encourages his artistic aspirations. He and his best friend John Crocker, an African American boy, are inseparable and prone to mischief—including smoking pot— after which Paul’s parents send him to a private prep school with an almost exclusively white, privileged, and prejudiced student body. Together, the boys concoct a risky scheme to escape their lives and run away to Florida.
