at No. 24 Illinois 26, Minnesota 14: Chase Brown rushed for 180 yards in a career-high 41 carries and caught a 40-yard touchdown pass, and the Illini won their fifth straight game to become bowl eligible for the first time since 2019. Mohamed Ibrahim rushed for 127 yards, his nation-leading 14th straight 100-yard game and the bulk of the Gophers’ 180 total yards, their fewest in five years and the fewest against Illinois by an FBS opponent since at least 2000. Minnesota quarterbac­k Tanner Morgan, held to just 21 yards on fourfor-12 passing, left early in the fourth quarter after taking a hit to the head. Athan Kaliakmani­s entered for the Gophers and was intercepte­d twice. Illinois quarterbac­k Tommy DeVito ran for a five-yard touchdown early in the third quarter to put the Illini up 20-14.

Maryland 38, at Indiana 33: After an injury to Taulia Tagovailoa in the fourth quarter, Billy Edwards Jr. stepped in and led a winning drive for the Terrapins. After getting hit as he threw a pass, Tagovailoa was carted off the field because of an apparent knee injury with just over 14 minutes left in the fourth quarter after throwing for 270 yards with two touchdowns and running for another score. Edwards entered the game with Maryland down 27-24, and on his second possession had a 31-yard run to put the Terrapins inside the Indiana five-yard line. Two plays later, Roman Hemby run in the go-ahead score with just over five minutes left.

at Michigan State 34, Wisconsin 28 (2 OT): Quarterbac­k Payton Thorne threw a 27-yard touchdown pass to receiver Jayden Reed in the second overtime to lift the Spartans. The win ended a four-game losing streak for Michigan State. It’s the first loss for Wisconsin’s interim coach Jim Leonhard. The winning throw was set up after Michigan State’s Jacoby Windmon stripped the ball from Braelon Allen on the first play of the second overtime.

at Purdue 43, Nebraska 37: Aidan O’Connell passed for 391 yards and four touchdowns, and Devin Mockobee rushed for 178 yards and another score for the Boilermake­rs. Charile
