at No. 2 Ohio State 54, Iowa 10: C.J. Stroud overcame a slow start to throw four second-half touchdown passes, and Ohio State’s defense took advantage of six Iowa turnovers to pull away. Tanner McCalliste­r had two intercepti­ons and Tommy Eichenberg returned an intercepti­on for a touchdown as Ohio State took advantage of an inept Iowa offense to start drives consistent­ly with good field position. Miyan Williams rushed for a first-half touchdown, and Stroud threw to Marvin Harrison, Emeka Egbuka, Julian Fleming and Mitch Rossi for second-half touchdowns.

at No. 16 Penn State 45, Minnesota 17: Sean Clifford threw four touchdown passes, and Penn State’s defense forced seven punts in the win. A week after the worst game of his six-year career, a smattering of boos rang out from the 107,000 fans clad all in white when Clifford was announced as the starting quarterbac­k. Some in the crowd wanted to see coveted freshman Drew Allar take over. By halftime, the Happy Valley crowd had changed its tone.

at Rutgers 24, Indiana 17: Samuel Brown V had a careerhigh 101 yards rushing and a touchdown and Noah Vedral threw for 113 yards and a touchdown to fuel Rutgers. The Scarlet Knights ended a 21-game conference home losing streak; they had last won a conference home game in 2017 against Maryland. It was the longest home conference game losing streak in Big Ten history. Indiana opened the game with a 93-yard touchdown return on the kickoff as Jaylin Lucas went untouched en route to a 7-0 lead.

at Wisconsin 35, Purdue 24: Graham Mertz threw for two touchdowns, and Braelon Allen rushed for 113 yards to help propel Wisconsin. John Torchio had two intercepti­ons, including a 31-yard return for a touchdown for the Badgers, who rebounded from a 34-28, double-overtime loss at Michigan State.

at Maryland 31, Northweste­rn 24: Roman Hemby ran for 179 yards and three touchdowns, including a sensationa­l 75-yard sprint with 3:22 remaining for Maryland. The Terrapins overcame the absence of standout quarterbac­k Taulia Tagovailoa, who aggravated a knee sprain last weekend. This is the earliest they’ve become bowl eligible since 2001, when they did it Oct. 11.
