MARÍA ZARDOYA

MUSICIAN

-

As lead vocalist of L.A. lounge-pop romantics the Marías, Puerto Rican singer-songwriter Zardoya has suffused SoCal’s music scene with her enigmatic, Spanglishlanguage cool. Following the success of the Marías’ 2021 debut, “Cinema,” Zardoya and multi-instrumentalist Josh Conway were tapped by Boricua superstar Bad Bunny to write “Otro Atardecer” — a spellbinding indie-pop highlight on his Grammynominated album, “Un Verano Sin Ti.” Zardoya has since joined Bad Bunny on multiple dates of his stadium tour, amplifying her own Caribbean heritage with a touch of alt Hollywood glam. — S.E.
