EMILY BLUNT SADDLES UP

The English (Nov. 11 on Prime Video) is a six-episode epic Western series with a touch of revenge. Blunt stars in the role of an aristocratic Englishwoman, Lady Cornelia Locke, who partners with a Pawnee ex-cavalry scout (Chaske Spencer) in the late 1800s to cross the violent American frontier. “I’d always been intrigued to play in the mythic story space of a Western,” says Blunt, 39. “And our world within this genre felt like a path less traveled. It was as witty as it was violent and as beautiful as suspenseful.” Plus, her character has an element of mystery. “I love a character with a secret.”
