The buzz: South Korea didn’t put a shot on target in its scoreless draw with Uruguay, although the result gave the Taegeuk Warriors an important point against the No. 14 team in the world. Another positive was the fact Tottenham midfielder Son Heung-min, who shared the last English Premier League scoring title with Mo Salah, was able to go 90 minutes despite a recent facial fracture. A win here would move South Korea a big step closer to the second round for just the second time in five World Cups. Ghana, the lowest-ranked team in the tournament, threw a late scare into Portugal, scoring in the final minute of regulation to turn what appeared to be a comfortable win into a 3-2 nail-biter with only a slip by Inaki Williams while trying to score on a scramble in front of the net 10 minutes into stoppage time allowing the Selecao to escape with the three points.
