Stanford shuts down Tubelis, tops Arizona

Spencer Jones scored all 18 of his points in the second half for Stanford and played a key role in neutralizi­ng Pac-12 leading scorer Azuolas Tubelis, as the Cardinal stunned No. 4 Arizona 88-79 on Saturday night.

Arizona (22-4, 11-4), hoping to stay a half-game behind UCLA for the conference lead, had a seven-game win stopped.

Courtney Ramey scored a season-high 26 points for Arizona, which could not overcome Tubelis’ worst game of the season. The junior forward, who had 40 points against Oregon on Feb. 2 and has averaged a near double-double to lead the Pac-12 in points and rebounds, was held to four points.

No. 3 Alabama 77, at Auburn 69:

Rylan Griffen scored 16 points, and the Crimson Tide (22-3, 12-0 Southeaste­rn Conference) remained the only Power 5 team without a league loss.

Missouri 86, at No. 6 Tennessee 85:

D’Andre Gholston hit a three at the buzzer to stun the Volunteers (19-6, 8-4 SEC), who missed a late

free throw and had a second attempt waved off because of a lane violation, giving the Tigers (19-6, 7-5) a last shot.

at No. 8 Virginia 69, Duke 62 (OT):

Armaan Franklin scored 23 points, including a three with 39 seconds left, to lift the Cavaliers (19-4, 11-3 Atlantic Coast Conference)

in overtime. The Blue Devils (17-8, 8-6) seemed poised to win when Kyle Filipowski was awarded foul shots on the final play of regulation, but the call was waved off after a review.

Oklahoma State 64, at No. 11 Iowa State 56:

JohnMichae­l Wright scored 19

points and the Cowboys rallied for their fifth straight win.

at Texas Tech 71, No. 12 Kansas State 63:

De’Vion Harmon scored 20 points, including two on a drive in the final minute, as the 2-10 Red Raiders upset the Wildcats (19-6, 7-5 Big 12).

No. 14 Baylor 72, at No. 17 Texas Christian 68:

Adam Flagler scored 28 points, including 16 in a row as the Bears (19-6, 8-4 Big 12) rallied in the second half.

at No. 16 Gonzaga 88, Brigham Young 81:

The Bulldogs (21-5, 10-2 West Coast Conference) pulled away from the Cougars (1612, 6-7) down the stretch as Julian Strawther finished with 26 points.

No. 18 Indiana 62, at Michigan 61:

Trayce Jackson-Davis had 28 points and 11 rebounds, and the Hoosiers (18-7, 9-5 Big Ten) rallied as they held the Wolverines without a point for the final 5:12.

at St. John’s 73, No. 20 Providence 68:

The Red Storm overcame Bryce Hopkins’ 29 points for the Friars (18-7, 10-4 Big East).

at No. 23 Creighton 56, No. 21 Connecticu­t 53:

The Bluejays (17-8, 11-3 Big East) won their eighth in a row after the Huskies had a tying three erased on video review in the final seconds.

at Illinois 69, No. 24 Rutgers 60: The Illini held the Scarlet Knights (16-9, 8-6 Big Ten) scoreless for more than 10 minutes to rally.

at No. 15 Villanova 99, Seton Hall 65: Maddy Siegrist scored a career-high 50 points to become the Big East’s career regular-season scoring leader.
