TV THIS WEEK
SUNDAY It promises to be a tune-filled evening when Reba Mcentire and Blake Shelton host “The 47th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards” and the late Whitney Houston is remembered as part of “Celebration of Gospel 2012.” (CBS, 8 p.m.; BET, 8 p.m.) Bad news, folks. “The Killing” and “Game of
Thrones” have been canceled. April Fools! Both of these fan favorites return this night for their respective second seasons. Peter Dinklage, below, co-stars in the latter series, an epic fantasy-drama based on the novels of George R. R. Martin. (AMC, 8 p.m.; HBO,
9 p.m.) Hearts, MONDAY maybe ankles, have been broken. Brackets were torn asunder. The Sweet 16 gave way to the Elite Eight and then the Final Four. Now, two teams enter, one team leaves at the final of the “2012 NCAA Basketball
Tournament.” TUESDAY (CBS, 6 p.m.) No granite countertops, no Sub-zero fridge, no fancy food processor? No problem! Adventure-seeking chefs prepare locally sourced meals in the remotest of locations in the new reality series “No Kitchen Required.” (BBC
America, 7 and 10 p.m.)
WEDNESDAY
Will the last person leaving “One Tree Hill” please turn out the lights? The long-running youth-oriented drama (so long-running it actually premiered in 2003 on the now-defunct WB Network) crosses the finish line with its
series finale. (KTLA, 8 p.m.)
THURSDAY Famed physicist Stephen Hawking guest
starring as himself on “The Big Bang
Theory” could conceivably unleash a black hole that swallows up the super-nerdy sitcom, the whole of TV, and finally, the universe itself. But they’re gonna risk it. (CBS, 8 p.m.)
FRIDAY It’s the heat and the humidity: High-society types and underworld lowlifes mix and mingle at a swanky beachfront hotel in 1950s Miami in
the new drama “Magic City.” Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Danny Huston and Olga Kurylenko
star. (Starz, 10 p.m.)
SATURDAY Charlton Heston lays down the law as Moses in the 1956 biblical epic “The Ten Commandments.” And Vin Diesel, below, breaks at least two of those commandments in 2011actioncaper/franchise entry “Fast Five.” (ABC,
7 p.m.; HBO, 8 and 11:15 p.m.)
