Dodgers 9, Arizona 3
AT THE PLATE: The Dodgers broke open the game with a three-run sixth inning that began with consecutive singles by Andre Ethier, Juan Rivera and James Loney. Justin Sellers, a candidate for the final spot on the opening-day roster, drove in two runs with a single to left field. Dee Gordon was two for three with a run scored, a run batted in and a steal. Juan Uribe was one for three with a run.
ON THE MOUND: Josh Lindblom, who is battling for the final spot in the bullpen, replaced Clayton Kershaw in the fourth and got a fly-ball out from Taylor Harbin. Another candidate for that bullpen spot, Scott Rice, pitched 12⁄ scoreless
3 innings. Rice, at 30, has spent his career in the minors. Relief prospect Steven Ames pitched a scoreless inning.
EXTRA BASES: Adam Kennedy, who is recovering from a slight right groin pull, played in an intrasquad game in minor league camp. Kennedy, a 35-year-old utilityman, could play in a major league exhibition game Sunday or Monday. His health could affect competition for the final bench spot. If Kennedy is healthy on opening day, Manager Don Mattingly could select the slick-fielding Sellers for the final bench spot over Josh Fields or Luis Cruz.
UP NEXT: Chad Billingsley faces the Diamondbacks and Daniel Hudson at 1 p.m. Sunday at Camelback Ranch.
