Redskins call RGIII probable

- Wire reports

Shanahan says there is “a very, very good chance” rookie QB will play Sunday.

Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III is listed as probable for Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Or, as Coach Mike Shanahan put it: “There is a very, very good chance he is going to play.”

Griffin went through a full practice Friday for the third straight day after missing last week’s win over the Cleveland Browns because of a sprained right knee. Vick says he’s ‘not a backup’

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick, who is likely to remain on inactive for Sunday’s game, said he wants to be a starter wherever he ends up next season.

“I’m not a backup. Just being honest, just being candid. I’m a full-f ledged starter,” Vick told Philadelphia Magazine’s Birds 24/7. “That’s what I’ve got in me, that’s what I provide, that’s what I offer. Whatever happens, wherever I end up, they’re going to get 110%. You’re going to get the same thing out of me that you got the last two, three years, and that’s 110% effort and a guy that’s confident in his abilities to play and win.

“I want to start. . . . I’ll feel that way until I start to feel like I’m becoming a problem on the team.” Packers won’t start veteran center

Green Bay Coach Mike McCarthy has apparently decided to replace Jeff Saturday, a 14-year veteran center in his first season with the Packers, with Evan Dietrich-Smith for the last two games of the regular season. Although Saturday has been coping with neck and shoulder injuries, McCarthy indicated the late-season change was not because of medical reasons. Miami gets Kaeding

Former Pro Bowl kicker Nate Kaeding signed with the Miami Dolphins, whose recent wave of injuries sent kicker Dan Carpenter to injured reserve because of a right groin injury.
