This book contains many biographies of American women who played vital roles in the days of the American Revolution. Here are a few: Nancy Hart captured British soldiers; Deborah Sampson, probably the only woman enlisted as a soldier to fight against the British; Rebecca and Abigail Bates, known as the Army of Two; and 12year-old Phoebe Reynolds, who saved her father’s life.

These stories make us proud of all the women who helped achieve our country’s independence.
