From Mile High to Golden State

Warriors clear cap space for free agent by sending three players to Utah.

The Golden State Warriors have landed a coveted free agent — just not the one everybody was talking about.

The Warriors reached an agreement with swingman Andre Iguodala on a $48million, four-year deal Friday, two people with knowledge of the situation said.

The Warriors reportedly cleared more than $24 million in salary cap space by sending Richard Jefferson, Andris Biedrins and Brandon Rush to the Utah Jazz along with unspecified draft picks.

Yahoo Sports said the Warriors were taking back only Kevin Murphy and his non-guaranteed $788,000 deal for next season.

The complicated moves give the rejuvenated franchise, fresh off an appearance in the second round of the playoffs and with a stockpile of promising young talent, a potent scorer and perimeter defender to team with point guard Stephen Curry and company.

Iguodala averaged 13 points, 5.4 assists and 5.3 rebounds last season for the Denver Nuggets, who lost in six games to the Warriors in the opening round of the playoffs. He spent his first eight years in the NBA with the Philadelphia 76ers and has averaged 15.1 points on 46% shooting for his career. Mayo to Bucks

Free-agent shooting guard O.J. Mayo agreed to a three-year, $24-million contract with the Milwaukee Bucks, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

Milwaukee had a pressing need at the position after last season’s starter, Monta Ellis, opted out of the final year of his contract and reserve guards Mike Dunleavy and J.J. Redick agreed to free-agent terms with other teams earlier this week.

Mayo, from USC, was the Mavericks’ second-leading scorer last season, averaging 15.3 points while starting all 82 games. He also averaged 4.4 assists and 3.5 rebounds while playing 35.5 minutes a game. Mavericks get Calderon

The Dallas Mavericks moved quickly once they were out of the running for Dwight Howard.

A person with knowledge of the deal told the Associated Press that Dallas and free-agent point guard Jose Calderon have an agreement on a four-year, $28-million contract.

Calderon spent his first seven years with Toronto before the Raptors traded him to Detroit in January. McRoberts stays

Free-agent forward Josh McRoberts has agreed to a two-year, $5.5-million deal to remain with the Charlotte Bobcats, said a person familiar with the situation.

McRoberts outperformed expectations last season after being acquired from the Orlando Magic in February. He averaged 9.3 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 26 games for Charlotte while shooting 50.5%.
