Grizzlies lose on big night for Randolph

Grizzlies forward Zach Randolph made his only shot Wednesday against the New Orleans Pelicans, then headed for a hospital in the second quarter in Memphis, Tenn.

It wasn’t bad news, however, as Randolph made it on time to be with his fiancee, Faune, for the birth of their 7-pound, 4-ounce boy.

There was no cigar for the for the Grizzlies, however, as the Pelicans scored a 99-84 victory, leading by 29 points in the fourth quarter.

at Indiana 97, Chicago 80: The Pacers are 5-0 for the first time since 1971-72 as Luis Scola, Donald Sloan and Lance Stephenson accounted for all the points in a decisive 12-2 run. Paul George had 21 points and six rebounds to lead Indiana, and David West had a season-high 17 points and 13 rebounds.

at Oklahoma City 107, Dallas 93: The Thunder has won 11 in a row over the Mavericks, including playoffs, and two straight since Russell Westbrook returned. Kevin Durant had 23 points and 10 assists, and Westbrook scored 22 points against Dallas.

at Boston 97, Utah 87: The Celtics got their first win of the season, but the crowd of 17,130 at TD Garden ended a sellout streak of 289 games that dated to the end of the 2006-07 season. Gordon Hayward, who played for new Celtics Coach Brad Stevens at Butler, had 28 points and nine rebounds for the winless Jazz.

Golden State 106, at Minnesota 93: Klay Thompson scored 19 of his 30 points in the fourth quarter and Harrison Barnes scored 14 points in his season debut to help the Warriors overcome a 25-point, 16-rebound, six-assist effort by Kevin Love. Steph Curry left with a bruised left foot and a sore right knee but said he probably would play in the Warriors’ next game.

at San Antonio 99, Phoenix 96: Tony Parker scored 15 of San Antonio’s final 16 points and the Spurs withstood a hectic finish to beat the Suns. Gerald Green missed a three-pointer at the buzzer that would have tied the score.

at Charlotte 92, Toronto 90: Gerald Henderson broke out of his shooting slump with a season-high 23 points and led the Bobcats to their second win in a row. Henderson came in shooting 31% through the first four games but got off to a fast start and made 10 of 17 shots. Washington 116, at Philadelph­ia 102: The 76ers have lost two in a row after a surprising 3-0 start as seven Wizards scored in double figures, led by John Wall (24 points) and Marcin Gortat (19 points, 12 rebounds).

at Milwaukee 109, Cleveland 104: O.J. Mayo scored 28 points, including six three-pointers, and Gary Neal had 12 of his 23 points in the fourth quarter as the short-handed Bucks held off the Cavaliers. at Orlando 98, Clippers 90
