Steelers keep Roethlisbe­rger in tow

Pittsburgh Steelers franchise quarterbac­k Ben Roethlisbe­rger agreed to a five-year contract Friday that will keep him with the team for the rest of the decade and probably the rest of his career.

Financial details were not immediatel­y available, but Roethlisbe­rger’s new contract replaced the eight-year, $102-million deal he signed in 2008. Roethlisbe­rger originally had a base salary of $11.6 million with a cap hit of $18.35 million for 2015. The Steelers also signed running back DeAngelo Williams to a two-year contract.

The Dallas Cowboys signed Darren McFadden to a two-year deal one day after NFL rushing champion DeMarco Murray left the Cowboys for Philadelph­ia.

With two trades, the Miami Dolphins swapped receivers: Kenny Stills for Mike Wallace . First, the Dolphins obtained Stills from the New Orleans Saints for veteran linebacker Dannell Ellerbe and a 2015 third-round draft pick. Then, Miami traded Wallace and a seventh-round draft pick to Minnesota for a fifth-round draft pick, a person with direct knowledge of the deal told the Associated Press.

Outside linebacker Brian Orakpo , a three-time Pro Bowl selection who had spent the last six years with the Washington Redskins, agreed to a four-year deal worth up to $35 million with the Tennessee Titans, according to his agent, Ben Dogra .

Wide receiver-kick returner Percy Harvin is headed to the Buffalo Bills, according to two people familiar with the one-year deal, the AP reported.

Defensive lineman John Hughes signed a four-year, $14-million contract extension with the Cleveland Browns.

Darian Stewart agreed to a two-year deal with the Denver Broncos. Stewart is expected to replace Rahim Moore , who left for a three-year, $12-million deal with Houston a day earlier.
