Dodgers 4, Colorado 2

Through seven innings

- — Dylan Hernandez

RAIN DELAY: With one out, runners on the corners and the Dodgers leading, 4-1, in the top of the sixth inning, the umpires temporarily halted the game because of heavy rainfall and lightning. The rain delay lasted an hour and 25 minutes. When play resumed, long reliever Juan Nicasio replaced starting pitcher Brett Anderson. The first batter, Wilin Rosario, reached base on a fielding error by Jimmy Rollins to narrow the Rockies’ deficit to 4-2.

ROSTER MOVE: Right-hander Pedro Baez was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a strained pectoral muscle and replaced on the active roster by Daniel Coulombe, who was recalled from triple-A Oklahoma City. Baez said he felt tightness while pitching to Dee Gordon the previous night in the eighth inning of a victory over the Miami Marlins. Manager Don Mattingly said he didn’t have a timetable for Baez’s return, but the pitcher himself said he thinks he will be ready to pitch when he is eligible to be activated in two weeks. With Baez sidelined, the Dodgers are thinking of activating closer Kenley Jansen on Friday instead of Saturday. Jansen is recovering from a foot operation.

AT THE PLATE: Adrian Gonzalez drove in two runs with a first-inning double to move the Dodgers in front, 2-0. Andre Ethier doubled in the second inning and scored on a double by Anderson. Gonzalez drew a walk in the fifth inning and later scored on a single by Yasmani Grandal. Rockies starter Chad Bettis, who was called up from the minor leagues, was charged with four runs and seven hits over five innings. The Dodgers drew four walks against Bettis.

ON THE MOUND: Anderson pitched well for the first five innings, as he limited the Rockies to a run and four hits over that period. The only run charged to Anderson came on a leadoff home run by Rosario in the second inning.

UP NEXT: Clayton Kershaw (1-2, 4.26 ERA) will face the Rockies and Eddie Butler (2-3, 3.73) at Dodger Stadium at 7 p.m. TV: SportsNet LA; Radio: 570, 1020.
