Sam Smith adds to his film cred

Following the announcement this week that he will perform the new theme song for the James Bond movie “Spectre,” British pop star Sam Smith has signed on for another movie-themed gig: He will serve as musical guest at the fifth annual Art + Film Gala at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.

The annual bash, a starstudded fundraiser for the museum, is scheduled for Nov. 7, one day after “Spectre” opens theatrically in the U.S. The gala is co-chaired by trustee Eva Chow and actor Leonardo DiCaprio.

As previously announced, filmmaker Alejandro González Iñárritu and artist James Turrell will be honored at this year’s fete.
