NEW LOOKS AT WESTEDGE

- — Lisa Boone

For fans of contemporary design, the WestEdge Design Fair is a smaller, more manageable version of larger furniture fairs such as Dwell on Design and the International Contemporary Furniture Fair.

The intimate, four-day event returns to the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica this month with more than 150 exhibitors, who will display furniture, lighting, accessories, kitchen products and outdoor decor.

Exhibitors include Baker Furniture, ILVE Appliances, Miele, Tidelli Outdoor Living, Smeg and Jenn-Air. New to the event this year is Made: Modern, a selection of limited-edition handcrafted furnishings by independent artists including furniture designer Jason Mizrahi, Blankblank, CP Lighting, Bueno Glass and ceramist Pamela Sunday.

The fair will also host panel discussions with architects and designers on topics including “How Technology Is Changing the Landscape of Interior Design,” with Anna Brockway of Chairish and Jaime Derringer of Design Milk; “Tile Makes a Room,” with architect Barbara Bestor and Catherine Bailey and Robin Petravic of Heath Ceramics; “Entertaining With Style,” with designer Kathryn M. Ireland, Nichole Wright of Bon Vivant Events and Eddie Zaratsian of Tick Tock Floral; and “The New Dynamic: Design Meets Technology,” with Peter Sallick of Dering Hall, Joe Lucas of Harbinger and Delta Wright of Curated.
