Eden Sher, Atticus Shaffer and Charlie McDermott also star. 8 p.m. ABC Nature This new two-part episode “Pets: Wild at Heart,” documents the behavior of domestic animals using the same techniques filmmakers use in the wild, including nightvision cameras, drones, mini-cameras and moving x-rays. 8 p.m. KOCE and KPBS The Goldbergs Lainey (AJ Michalka) isn’t happy that Barry (Troy Gentile) is insecure about the two of them as a couple, so she enlists Erica (Hayley Orrantia) to help in this new episode. Wendi McLendon-Covey and Jeff Garlin also star, and Chuck Norris guest stars as himself. 8:30 p.m. ABC Law & Order: Special Victims Unit Rollins’ (Kelli Giddish) mother (Virginia Madsen) throws her a baby shower, and Deputy Chief Dodds’ (Peter Gallagher) son (Andy Karl) joins the SVU in this new episode. 9 p.m. NBC Supernatural Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles, who directs this new episode) are on the trail of a baby who could be key to stopping the Darkness. 9 p.m. KTLA Modern Family Gloria (Sofia Vergara) is called in for jury duty, and she’s excited by the prospect. 9 p.m. ABC Empire Ne-Yo (himself) partners with Hakeem (Bryshere “Yazz” Gray) — whose work is showcased at a massive block party thrown by Cookie, Anika and Laz (Taraji P. Henson, Grace Gealey, Adam Rodriguez). Terrence Howard, Kelly Rowland, Jussie Smollett and Gabourey Sidibe also star. 9 p.m. Fox Code Black Guthrie’s (William Allen Young) estranged son (guest star Cress Williams)becomes a staff member and immediately collides with Leanne (Marcia Gay Harden) over their approaches, in the new episode of the medical drama.
