Reds promote Williams to GM

The Cincinnati Reds promoted Dick Williams, 44, to GM as part of a succession plan for Walt Jocketty, 64, who will stay on as director of baseball operations for one more year before moving into an advisory role.

Williams has been in the Reds front office for the last 10 years, most recently as assistant GM.
