Another too- cool show

-

To that list of shows [“Eight TV Shows That Were Ahead of Their Time,” Dec. 27], I’d like to add “Flight of the Conchords,” which ran on HBO for two seasons, from 2007 to 2009. Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement portrayed variations of themselves as members of a two- person band from New Zealand seeking success in New York City. Providing great support were Rhys Darby as the duo’s inept manager and Kristen Schaal as their only fan.

I know you can’t include every worthy show, but I would have gone with nine shows or swapped one out to include “Action,” the 1999 comedy starring Jay Mohr, that was too funny and maybe too “inside” to be mainstream.

One series that has to make this list is “Firefly.” Fourteen episodes and done but living on at Comic- Con and on streaming services — with cast members who have all gone on to more success. Oh, and it’s Joss Whedon as well. A much more important and inf luential series than some others on your list.
