It was snowing when Julie Kirby arrived in Yosemite National Park in November. She had camped there as a child, when the “spectacular ‘ firefall’ was still ‘ falling,’ ” she said, but this was her f irst time in a snowy Yosemite. It adds “a whole new shimmer to the grandeur” of the national park, Kirby said. The Glendale resident used a Canon PowerShot SX50 to capture this scene in the area known as Gates of the Valley.
