LOOKING FOR SOMETHING DIFFERENT DURING THE L. A. TIMES FESTIVAL OF BOOKS?

Southern California Acura dealers are offering a Ride and Drive during the two- day literary event. The Ride and Drive will take place both days of the festival from 10 a. m. to 6 p. m. on Saturday, April 9, and from 10 a. m. to 5 p. m. on Sunday, April 10.

There will be four brand- new Acura models on site that guests can take for a test drive on a pre- set route along the streets of L. A. Don’t feel like driving? No problem! Simply ride along in one of the vehicles.

“It’s one of those no- pressure situations where there are no sales people,” explained Adam Medina of Garrett and Associates, the agency putting on the event on behalf of Southern California Acura dealers. “It’s something people might not expect at the Festival of Books, but it ’s a cool thing to do.” During the Ride and Drive, Acura specialist­s will talk about the features and options available on the cars and answer questions. Those who take part will receive a Starbucks gift card and a

two- month digital subscripti­on to the L. A. Times.

In addition, Southern California Acura dealers will have three displays throughout the festivalgu­ests can showcasing explore. additional­Guests have vehiclesth­e chancethat to take home a compliment­ary Acura tote bag from the display sites.

To take part as a driver in the event, guests must be 21 years or older with a valid driver’s license and complete a registrati­on form and waiver. Riders must be 12 years old or older and ride with a parent or guardian.

the vehicl e’s tec hnology and luxury during past Ride and Drives at t he cit y’s Auto Show and shopping centers.

“It ’s a good oppor t unit y for festivalgo­ers to experienc e an Acura in a rela xing environmen­t,” she said.
