Ending a long run in Brentwood
Fred Silverman made an indelible mark on American television in the 1970s, programming such hits as “All in the Family,” “The Waltons” and “Charlie’s Angels.” Now the TV producer and exec is making a change to his own lineup, listing his Westside compound for sale at $30 million.
Set on more than 2.5 park-like acres in Brentwood, his longtime estate consists of three structures, a swimming pool, a tennis court, lawns and gardens.
The close to 8,000-square-foot main house takes in views of mature trees and flowers. A billiards room, a family room with a fireplace and a study/office are among the living spaces, which feature hardwood floors and high ceilings.
The guesthouse, which has been in use as offices, has four bedrooms, four bathrooms and 3,500 square feet of space. A large koi pond with more than 100 mature fish sits nearby.
The pool house includes a changing room with a bathroom, beamed ceilings and a living room that doubles as a projection room, bar and kitchen.
Designed for entertaining, the site has covered parking for up to 20 vehicles.
Silverman, 78, also produced such shows as “Matlock” (1986-95) and “Diagnosis Murder” (19932001). He bought the property in 1988 for $2.55 million.

Built in 1949 and extensively updated, the compound includes a main house, a guesthouse, a saltwater swimming pool, a pool house, stretches of lawn and mature trees on nearly half an acre.
The traditional-style main residence opens to a towering two-story entry. The open-plan space is bathed in natural light. A formal living room features a black honed-marble fireplace and two bay windows. A breakfast room off the kitchen is outfitted with custom built-ins. The family/media room, which also has a fireplace, opens to the backyard.
The master suite features a deck for a total of five bedrooms, five full bathrooms, two powder rooms and close to 5,000 square feet of living space on the site.
The guesthouse has vaulted beam ceilings. The ivy-covered pool house contains a gym. Security cameras monitor the property.
Wayans, 55, is one of 10 siblings and has four children. He got his start in stand-up and created the comedy “In Living Color” in 1990 with his brother Keenan Wayans. He starred in the comic films “Major Payne” (1995) and “Blankman” (1994) as well as the series “My Wife and Kids” (2001-05).
The property previously sold four years ago for $3.075 million.

Dianna Agron is hoping her home in Hollywood Hills hits the right note with a buyer. The actress-singer-dancer of “Glee” fame is asking $1.595 million for the turreted French Normandy-style compound that she’s called home for more than three years.
Set behind gates and privacy hedges, the renovated residence of 2,494 square feet mixes 1920s detail with a range of contemporary updates.
There’s an updated kitchen that keeps things light and bright with soft tones accented by a marble backsplash and countertops.
A grand living room harks back to a bygone era with handsome barrel-rolled ceilings and an oversized
fireplace, and lavish wall treatments keep the eyes moving in the bedrooms.

She bought the house in late 2012 for $1.05 million.

‘Portlandia’ star is hip to the area
Fred Armisen is ditching one of L.A.’s trendy, hipster neighborhoods for another.
The actor-comedian of “Portlandia” fame is under contract to sell his tidy hillside bungalow in Silver Lake. He’s found new digs in nearby Los Feliz, buying a stately English-style house in the area for about $2.03 million.
Listed for sale at $949,000, his old address is a refurbished 1927 house of 1,456 square feet that combines vintage details with modern amenities.
The kitchen is outfitted with reclaimed barn wood, a divided farmhouse sink, marble counters, oak floors, period hardware and subway tile. The ever-so-current mismatched cabinetry includes white cupboards above and a deep denim blue below. The three bedrooms
and two full bathrooms include a master suite with a walkin closet.
A secluded deck and outdoor dining area sit in the backyard. Views take in northeast Los Angeles and the outlying mountains.
His new house, a brick twostory built in 1927, has a refined look with soft-hued interiors, wood floors and an updated kitchen with a herringbone-patterned backsplash. The living room has a decorative tile fireplace, and the formal dining room is topped with a modern chandelier.

The busy actor, 49, stars in two current series: “Portlandia” and “Documentary Now!” He has also been the music director on “Late Night With Seth Meyers” since 2014. His scores of credits include stints on “Saturday Night Live.”

Drumming up interest in the Hills

Madden of the pop-punk band Good Charlotte has handed off his Hollywood Hills West bachelor pad to another musician, drummer Chris Cester of Jet fame.
Cester landed the secluded bungalow for $1.55 million — slightly above its $1.495-million asking price.
The one-story house, built in 1951, is reached by way of a gated driveway that crosses over a stream. The 2,183 square feet of renovated interiors feature such contemporary touches as an open floor plan and white walls; a river stone fireplace adds character.
The updated kitchen has a breakfast bar that seats four. There are three bedrooms and three bathrooms. A brick terrace, decks and patios surround the home, which sits on more than half an acre of grounds.
Madden, 36, is part of the poppunk band and the rock duo the Madden Brothers with his twin brother, Joel. They are both coaches on “The Voice.”
Benji Madden, who last year married actress Cameron Diaz, bought the wooded property more than three years ago for $1.124 million.
Cester, 34, helped form Jet in 2001 with his older brother, Nic Cester. After Jet disbanded in 2011, he started the electro-rock group DamnDogs. He has written soundtrack material for the film “SpiderMan 3” (2007) as well as the TV shows “Dancing With the Stars” (2011) and “Chuck” (2007).
