Life sentence in $10 debt killing

-

A murder over a $10 drug debt landed Maurice Talley in prison for life.

Talley, 28, was sentenced this week for the assassination-style killing of Roger Glen, who was shot once in the temple at point-blank range after answering the door of his Miami Gardens apartment in December 2014.

The sentencing led to a powerful scene — after Thursday's court hearing, mothers of both men embraced in grief. “One person died, and another is going to prison for life. And two families are destroyed — all because of wounded pride over a $10 debt,” Miami-Dade prosecutor Joseph Mansfield said.
