Arizona takes Game 1

Bobby Dalbec pitched Arizona past Mississipp­i State in the opening game of the Starkville, Miss., Super Regional on Friday night, despite a 37-minute delay due to a power outage.

Dalbec tossed 82⁄3 shutout innings, lifting the Wildcats to a 1-0 win over the Bulldogs. Dalbec was drafted earlier in the day by the Boston Red Sox.

Miami 12, Boston College 7: Johnny Ruiz had two home runs for a career-high five RBIs, and Zack Collins drove in three runs to help the Hurricanes beat the Eagles in the Coral Gables, Fla., Super Regional.

Michael Mediavilla (11-1) struck out seven and gave up two earned runs in 72⁄3 innings for Miami (49-11). Bryan Garcia picked up his 17th save by striking out Donovan Casey with the bases loaded in the ninth.

Texas Christian 8, Texas A&M 2: Luken Baker hit a three-run homer to lead the Horned Frogs over the No. 4 Aggies in College Station, Texas.

East Carolina 8, Texas Tech 6: Travis Watkins hit two home runs and had six RBIs and East Carolina beat Texas Tech.
