A plus for former Mitzi Gaynor home
Financiers, pocket-heavy foreign buyers and a movie star were among the latest movers and shakers in L.A. County’s luxury market. Here’s a look at the priciest home sales that closed toward the end of May.
$22.375 million — Pacif ic Palisades
A limited liability company with ties to financier Jason Subotky, partner and portfolio manager of Yacktman Asset Management, was the buyer of a home in the 1700 block of San Remo Drive.
The shingled two-story in the Palisades Riviera neighborhood came to market in January for $26.95 million and was more recently listed for sale at $23.595 million. Records show that the property previously sold three years ago for $6.7 million.
Sitting on close to an acre, the 10,4000-square-foot home is reached by a gated drive and has a cobblestone motor court. Interior details include a floating glassand-wood staircase, a living room with a two-sided fireplace, a gourmet kitchen and two family rooms.
Gardens, fruit trees, lawns and a swimming pool and spa fill the grounds.

$14.25 million — Malibu
The longtime home of Donn
Tatum, the former president of Walt Disney Productions, sold in the 33000 block of Pacific Coast Highway for $250,000 shy of the asking price: $14.5 million.
Fronting nearly 260 feet of coastline, the 2-acre estate features a ranch-style bungalow with three bedrooms and three bathrooms in more than 1,200 square feet of living space. Among features of note are vaulted ceilings, clerestory windows and an updated kitchen with a breakfast bar.
The master suite has walls of windows and French doors that open to a flagstone patio. Elsewhere, a stone pathway leads directly to the beach below.

$10.3 million — Beverly Hills
A renovated and expanded version of “South Pacific” star Mitzi Gaynor’s home of more than five decades sold in the 600 block of North Arden Drive to Iya Sarkisova, the daughter of Russian billionaire and RESO-Garantiya chairman Sergei Sarkisov, and Mikhail Makharadze.
The 1920s Spanish colonial villa, which Gaynor sold two years ago for $4.9 million, had been listed for $10.95 million, records show.
Set behind gates, the 6,173square-foot house has a classic yet contemporary feel, with white walls, graceful arches, beamed ceilings and floor-to-ceiling glass. French doors open to a deck with an outdoor kitchen that overlooks a swimming pool.
Among additions to the property is a new detached guesthouse and a separate pool house. There are five bedrooms, six full bathrooms and a powder room in all.

$9,735,750 — Brentwood
A farmhouse-inspired traditional on three quarters of an acre in Mandeville Canyon sold for about $635,000 less than the asking price to a California limited liability company.
Found in the 13000 block of Boca de Canon Lane, the twostory house was completed in 2011 and features tongue-and-groove ceilings, modern fixtures and hardwood floors. A great room has bi-folding doors that open to various patios, an outdoor kitchen and dining area.
A media room, a playroom, a chef ’s kitchen with a walk-in pantry, a library/office, five bedrooms and six bathrooms are also within nearly 7,400 square feet of living space.
Across the hedged and gated grounds, a path leads down to the swimming pool and pool house.

$8.7 million — Beverly Hills
Plastic surgeon to the stars Gabriel Chiu and his wife, Christine, sold their home in the 9000 block of Lime Orchard Road to actress Zoe Saldana and her husband, Italian artist Marco Perego. Tucked behind fences and hedges, the colonial revival-style home was once owned by hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons and his ex-wife, former model and fashion designer Kimora Lee Simmons.
The 6,332-square-foot house was recently renovated by Richard Manion Architecture and has a two-story entry, formal living and dining rooms, a library, a gym and media room. Six bedrooms and eight bathrooms include a master suite with a fireplace.
Grounds of more than half an acre include a swimming pool, a tennis court, an outdoor kitchen and a fire pit. Formal gardens wrap the perimeter of the home.
