AT SEATTLE

- — Renee Griffin

When: 1 p.m. Where: CenturyLink Field.

On the air: TV: ESPN; Radio: 1330 Records: Galaxy 9-3-8, Seattle 6-12-2.

Record vs. Seattle: 1-0. Update: The Galaxy have beaten the struggling Sounders twice already this month — once in MLS play and once in U.S. Open Cup play — but the Seattle team they face Sunday will have a different look following the departure of longtime coach Sigi Schmid and the signing of Uruguayan midfielders Nicolas Lodeiro and Alvaro Fernandez this week. The matchup will be the first in Sounders franchise history played without Schmid at the helm as Seattle tries to turn around a season that could end up as its worst ever. Meanwhile, powered by a defense that has allowed just two goals in the last six games, the Galaxy are looking to finish out July without a loss and extend a four-game winning streak. Midfielder Steven Gerrard and defenders Nigel de Jong and Ashley Cole are all expected back from injury.
