Rams’ policies are clear

- By Gary Klein gary.klein@latimes.com

The NFL last staged a game at the Coliseum in 1994, when the Raiders called the stadium home.

Much has changed since, including what fans are allowed to bring to games.

A crowd of nearly 90,000 is expected for the Rams’ exhibition against the Dallas Cowboys on Saturday night, so fans should be aware that the Rams have adopted a “Clear Bag Policy.”

The allowable bags include:

Clear plastic, vinyl or PVC that does not exceed 12 by 6 by 12 inches. Official Rams clear plastic totes are available at ramsfanshop .com, or at Albertsons, Vons or Pavilions grocery stores, according to the Rams. Bags for all NFL teams are available at www.nflshop .com/all_clear.

One-gallon clear plastic freezer bags.

Small clutch bags, about the size of a hand, with or without a handle or strap, may be carried into the stadium along with one of the clear bag options.

An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection at a gate designated for this purpose.

According to the Rams, prohibited items include but are not limited to purses larger than a clutch bag, coolers, briefcases, backpacks, fanny packs, cinch bags, luggage of any kind, non-approved seat cushions, computer bags and camera bags or bags larger than the permissible size.

Non-approved seat cushions include large traditional seat cushions that have pockets, zippers, compartments, or covers.
