Solo has shoulder replacemen­t surgery

Suspended U.S. national team goalkeeper Hope Solo said she has had shoulder replacemen­t surgery. Solo posted post-surgery photos of herself on her social media accounts Wednesday.

She had the procedure at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle on Monday.

In a fiercely competitiv­e Champions League round on Wednesday, the 100% winning records of Pep Guardiola and Carlo Ancelotti with their new clubs came to an end.

Guardiola’s Manchester City trailed three times at Celtic, leveled each time and finished strongly to settle for a 3-3 draw. The coach’s winning streak to start the season ended at 10 matches.

Sparks center Jantel Lavender has won the WNBA’s sixth woman award. She averaged 9.6 points and shot a career-high 53.8% from the field.
