Workers on the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s Crenshaw/LAX light-rail construction project celebrate Thursday after a tunnel-boring machine dubbed “Harriet” broke through at the Leimert Park Station. The Crenshaw/LAX line, which will serve the cities of Los Angeles, Inglewood, El Segundo and portions of unincorporated Los Angeles County, is expected to open in fall 2019.
