Punishment by Nickelback?

- — TRACY BROWN

Canadian police officers in the town of Kensington are turning to an alternative form of punishment to deter people from drinking and driving this holiday season: Nickelback, the widely dismissed Canadian alt-rock band.

“When we catch you, and we will catch you, on top of a hefty fine, a criminal charge and a year’s driving suspension, we will also provide you with a bonus gift of playing the office’s copy of Nickelback in the cruiser on the way to jail,” the police said in a Facebook post.

Adding insult to injury? It included a photo of a cassette copy of Nickelback’s album “Silver Side Up.”
