No. 6 Florida State blown out on road

Josh Okogie scored 35 points, Ben Lammers added 18 and Georgia Tech pulled its second home upset of a top 10 opponent with a 78-56 victory over No. 6 Florida State on Wednesday night in Atlanta.

Georgia Tech, 12-8 overall and 4-4 in the Atlantic Coast Conference, led 41-15 at halftime and 70-47 with 6 minutes 52 seconds remaining on Lammers’ dunk. Florida State never got closer than 18 points in the second half.

Few signs pointed to a meltdown for the Seminoles (18-3, 6-2). They were tied for first place in the ACC and had gone 5-1 in their last six games, all against ranked opponents.

Florida State never trailed in a five-point win over Louisville last Saturday, but they fell behind so quickly against the Yellow Jackets that Coach Leonard Hamilton cleared his bench early the first half, using all 13 players. The starting lineup of Dwayne Bacon, Jonathan Isaac, Xavier RathanMayes, Terance Mann and Michael Ojo averaged just 8.6 minutes before intermission.

Bacon, the ACC’s eighthleading scorer, was the only Seminole in double figures, scoring 12 points on fourfor-15 shooting.

at No. 5 Baylor 65, Texas Tech 61: Johnathan Motley scored 25 points and the Bears (19-1, 7-1 Big 12) won their 13th consecutive home game. Motley made 15 of 16 free throws and Baylor had a 26-9 edge at the line. Justin Gray scored 12 points for the Red Raiders (14-6, 3-5).

No. 11 Butler 61, at Seton Hall 54: Kethan Savage had 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Bulldogs (18-3, 7-2 Big East), who held on after blowing a 13-point secondhalf lead. Angel Delgado had 12 points and a career-high 22 rebounds for the Pirates (13-7, 3-5).

at Georgetown 71, No. 16 Creighton 51: L.J. Peak scored 20 points and the Hoyas (11-10, 2-6 Big East) held the Blue Jays (18-3, 5-3) to their lowest scoring game of the season. Creighton has lost two in a row since star point guard Maurice Watson Jr. suffered a season-ending knee injury in a victory over Xavier on Jan. 16.

No. 25 Florida 106, at Louisiana State 71: Devin Robinson scored a careerhigh 24 points and the Gators (15-5, 6-2 Southeastern) made a school-record 19 three-point shots. Duop Reath scored 15 points for the Tigers (9-10, 1-7).
