Ducks stun Arizona, 85-58
Tyler Dorsey scored 23 points, including six threepointers, and No. 13 Oregon ended No. 5 Arizona’s 15game winning streak with a startlingly decisive 85-58 victory over the fifth-ranked Wildcats on Saturday at Eugene, Ore.
Dillon Brooks added 18 points and four threes as the Ducks (21-3, 10-1 in the Pac-12 Conference) extended their home-court winning streak to 40 games, an ongoing school record and now the longest active home streak in the nation after Kansas’ 51-game run was ended by Iowa State earlier Saturday.
Oregon hit 16 threepointers, its most since opening Matthew Knight Arena in 2011.
Rawle Alkins had 16 points for the Wildcats (21-3, 10-1), whose first Pac-12 defeat this season was their worst loss under Coach Sean Miller since a 99-69 setback against Brigham Young on Dec. 28, 2009. Their 15-game win streak was the thirdlongest in the nation.
The Ducks had been struggling, losing on the road to unranked Colorado last weekend and then barely escaping with a 71-70 victory over Arizona State on Thursday.
But they didn’t have any trouble against the Wildcats, leading by as many as 37 points.
at Stanford 81, Utah 75: Reid Travis scored 13 of his 26 points in the final eightplus minutes as the Cardinal (12-11, 4-7) pulled away in the final moments of a seesaw game to end a three-game losing streak. Tyler Rawson scored a career-high 20 points and Kyle Kuzma had 18 points and 11 rebounds for the Utes (15-8, 6-5).
Arizona State 81, at Oregon State 68: Shannon Evans II and Torian Graham each scored 21 points and made four three-pointers, helping the Sun Devils (11-13, 4-7) keep the Beavers (4-20, 0-11) winless in conference play. Drew Eubanks had 22 points and 17 rebounds for Oregon State.
