CBS renews ‘Good Fight’

- — Yvonne Villarreal

CBS All Access has picked up “The Good Fight” for a second season, just halfway through the drama’s 10-episode first season. The new season will premiere in 2018.

The legal drama, a spinoff of “The Good Wife,” is the first original drama series for the streaming service.

The series is led by Christine Baranski as Diane Lockhart and picks up one year after the events of the flagship series, with Diane forced to rebuild her life after losing her savings in a Ponzi scheme.

It’s unclear how the show has been performing on the digital platform, but its premiere aired on CBS’ linear channel on Feb. 19 to 7.2 million viewers.
