Demonstrators march to the state Capitol on Wednesday in support of a sweeping measure from Democratic state Sens. Ricardo Lara and Toni Atkins that would establish a government-run universal healthcare system in California. The bill cleared the Senate Health Committee on a 5-2 vote.
