Pact deadline for guild nears

On Monday, the contract of the Writers Guild of America expires. If a new deal is not reached with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers, the guild could go on strike as early as Tuesday. The television and movie writers are seeking pay increases, including bigger residuals for some streamed shows and increased employer contributions to their health plan.
