Irving for Thomas a done deal

- — L ance Pugmire

The blockbuster trade, delayed and in jeopardy of dying, is done: Kyrie Ir ving is headed to the Celtics, Isaiah Thomas is coming to the Cavaliers.

Concerned with medical f indings after looking at Thomas’ injured right hip, the Cavaliers negotiated another draft pick from Boston to compete the deal, a person familiar with the negotiations told the Associated Press. Cleveland will get a second- round pick in 2020 to complete the package, the person said. ESPN f irst reported the deal was done.

Cleveland had balked at pushing the Aug. 22 trade through after Thomas underwent a physical. He tore a labrum last season in the playoffs, and it’s possible he won’t be ready at the start of the season.

Estimates of the success of the Floyd Mayweather Jr.- Conor McGregor pay- per- view sales are expected on Thursday and industry experts said it could surpass the record 4.6 million buys of Mayweather- Manny Pacquiao in 2015.

UFC President Dana White said in a video posted by FanSided’s Mike Dyce that the Saturday fight at T- Mobile Arena — won by Mayweather with a 10th- round technical knockout — had 6.5 million buys. But another industry official said that although that lofty figure ultimately could be reached, it’s premature to place the figure that high.

Arizona Coyotes captain Shane Doan said he is retiring, leaving the game as one of nine NHL players to play at least 21 seasons with the same franchise. Doan was selected by the Winnipeg Jets with the seventh pick of the 1995 NHL draft and followed the franchise to the desert the next year. He is the franchise’s all- time leader with 1,540 games, 402 goals, 570 assists and 128 power- play goals.
