Not cool with Cat Stevens

Regarding “Yusuf Taps Into His Cat Years” [Sept. 19]: Your attempt to portray Yusuf Islam, who formerly performed as Cat Stevens, as a victim of “anti-Muslim rhetoric and policy” is more than a little ironic given his public statements endorsing the death fatwa against Salman Rushdie in 1989.
