Leonard Bernstein wouldn’t have turned 100 until next August, but the worldwide centennial celebration has started. The Los Angeles Master Chorale opens its season this weekend with Bernstein’s “Chichester Psalms,” and the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra does Bernstein’s “Serenade” with Joshua Bell next weekend. ‘Time Alone’
A new play by Alessandro Camon (who co-wrote the Oscar-nominated screenplay for “The Messenger”) tells of a young man convicted of killing a gang rival and a woman whose police-officer son has been slain. The production, which begins previews Saturday, stars two potent forces of acting: Tony winner Tonya Pinkins (“Jelly’s Last Jam” and “Caroline, or Change”) and Alex Hernandez (“UnReal”). ‘The Pearl Fishers’

Hubbard Street Dance
