Thompson misses LPGA haul

She missed on No. 18 and Ariya Jutanugarn birdied the last two holes to win the CME Group Tour Championship in Naples, Fla. Thompson still won the $1-million Race to the CME Globe and the Vare Trophy for season-long lowest-stroke average. Sung Hyun Park added to her rookie of the year award by sharing player of the year with So Yeon Ryu. It was the first time the award was shared.

Tommy Fleetwood was crowned the European Tour’s champion after a spectacular collapse on the back nine by Justin Rose, who appeared to be on track for a third win in as many starts when he eased to a 19 under total after 11 holes Sunday.
