UCLA fans can’t take any more of the same
Your team just got shut out 28-0 in the second half, gave up 345 yards rushing, committed eight penalties to the other team’s two, racked up a whopping 69 yards rushing on offense, finished the season as the second-worst rushing offense and defense in the country and the coach’s comment is, “But I couldn’t be more proud of our team.”
If that doesn’t speak volumes as to where this UCLA program is at I don’t know what does. I wish coach Chip Kelly all the best in turning things around in Westwood. I know one thing: He’s going to need a big broom. Steve Briseno Mission Viejo
When Rick Neuheisel was fired at UCLA, there was only one reason to keep him one more year. Rick would then have a team he recruited with his dream quarterback, Brett Hundley. The crash and burn for Mora came when it became the team Mora recruited with the dream quarterback, Josh Rosen. Blame injuries, but how does a former NFL defensive coordinator have the worst defense in college football?
Good luck, Chip Kelly, the baton is passed. Mike Smith Huntington Beach ::
If anyone was wondering as to why Jim Mora was watching the bowl game instead of being on the UCLA sidelines, all one needs to know is this: Yes, the O-line was weak, the defenders couldn’t tackle and the team suffered many major injuries, but for three years after recruiting the No.1 pro-style passing quarterback in the country, Mora could not entice a single five-star receiver to attend UCLA. One would have thought they would be banging down the door for a chance to hook up with future pro Josh Rosen, but he couldn’t get it done.
Hard to know if Mora was a lazy recruiter or just didn’t like the process, but either way, great that there’s a new sheriff in town. Again. Allan Kandel Los Angeles
