Penn State running back Saquon Barkley is entering the NFL draft.

Barkley announced his decision to skip his senior year Sunday, a day after helping Penn State beat Washington in the Fiesta Bowl. Barkley ran for 1,271 yards and 18 touchdowns this season and had 54 catches for 632 yards and three touchdowns. He ran for 137 yards and two touchdowns and caught seven passes for 38 yards in the No. 9 Nittany Lions’ 35-28 victory over No. 12 Washington.

Barkley finished fourth in Heisman Trophy voting and won the Paul Hornung Award as college football’s most versatile player.

North Carolina junior linebacker Andre Smith is entering the NFL draft. Smith made 14 starts at middle linebacker before suffering a season-ending injury in September against Louisville.

Former world champion Sarah Hendrickso­n and Michael Glasder clinched spots in the Pyeongchan­g Winter Games as the overall winners at the U.S. Olympic trials for ski jumping in Park City, Utah.

Adam Fox scored with 1 minute 20 seconds left in the third period to give the United States a 5-4 victory over Finland in the Americans’ final preliminar­y-round game at the world junior hockey championsh­ip in Buffalo, N.Y. The defending champion Americans (3-1) finished second behind Canada in the Group B standings and will face the Czech Republic or Russia in the quarterfin­als Tuesday.

Cris “Cyborg” Justino retained her UFC women’s featherwei­ght title with a unanimous decision over Holly Holm on Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Justino (19-1) had her first fiveround fight against Holm (11-4), a former bantamweig­ht champion. The judges scored the bout 48-47, 48-47, 49-46, as Justino remained unbeaten since 2005.
