Potter tops Johnson at Pebble Beach
Ted Potter Jr. outplayed world No. 1 Dustin Johnson and held off everyone else to win the AT&T Pebble Beach National for his first victory since a broken ankle nearly ended his career in 2014.
Potter, who came into the week No. 246 in the world, shot a threeunder 69 for a three-shot victory over Johnson, Phil Mickelson, Jason Day and Chez Reavie.
Kevin Streelman and Arizona Cardinals star Larry Fitzgerald won the Pro-Am team title.
Mark Calcavecchia shot a twounder 70 for a wire-to-wire, twostroke victory over Bernhard Langer in the Champions Tour’s Boca Raton Championship.
