Marie Agnes Grassini, 99 of Calabasas and West Hills passed away peacefully on February 28 and joined her husband Leo in Heaven. She was a devout Catholic who attended mass at St. Bernardine of Siena in Woodland Hills and prayed daily to St. Therese. She was a member of the St. Mel’s Adult Club where she enjoyed the company of many friends as well as the friendship­s and prayers she shared with her bible study group, Women of the Well. She was a member of the Volunteer League of the San Fernando Valley, and the West Hills Hospital Volunteer Auxiliary. She and her husband Leo were long time members of the Woodland Hills Country Club.

Marie was born on September 9, 1918 in Jersey City, New Jersey, and grew up in Minneapoli­s, Minnesota. She spent most of her adult life living in Huntington, New York prior to moving to Calabasas, California. She is predecease­d by her husband Leo and brothers Joseph Duffy and Raymond Duffy of Minneapoli­s. Marie is survived by her four children, Marilee Bush of Cranford, NJ, Larry Grassini of Hidden Hills, CA, Jean Poole of West Hills, CA and Maebeth Hill of Charlotte, NC. Marie’s very special legacy lives on through her children, their spouses, her 12 grandchild­ren and 11 great grandchild­ren. Her loving caregivers, Mae, Lori, Gigi and Kim cared for her deeply and lovingly and became part of her family.

Marie, in her gentle way lit up any room she entered, and was lively, caring and engaged with everyone in it. She will be remembered first and foremost as a true Lady, and will be missed by many.

Marie will be celebrated at Mass at St Bernardine of Siena Church in Woodland Hills on March 7th at 11am. A reception will follow at Larry and Sharon’s home at 2PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests your donations be sent to:
