Browns deal for Taylor and Landry

- staff and wire reports

The Cleveland Browns made a flurry of moves Friday, agreeing to trades for Buffalo Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor and Miami Dolphins Pro Bowl receiver Jarvis Landry, and agreeing to send quarterback DeShone Kizer to the Green Bay Packers for cornerback Damarious Randall.

The Browns, who own the first and fourth picks in April’s draft, will send Buffalo a third-round draft pick and send Miami a fourth-round pick this year and a seventh-rounder in 2019, according to reports.

Landry has been selected to three consecutive Pro Bowls and has 400 receptions, an NFL record for a fourth-year player. He signed a $16-million, oneyear franchise tag with Miami this week, clearing the path for his trade. Taylor led the Bills to their first playoff appearance in 18 years last year, but also was benched at one point. While Taylor was efficient by throwing for 51 touchdowns and just 14 interceptions in 44 games with Buffalo, the Bills finished last season 29th in total yards and 31st in yards passing.

Randall, 25, had 10 interceptions in three seasons with Green Bay. He started 30 of his 39 games.

Cleveland finished last in scoring in 2017 and went 0-16. Kizer, a second-round pick in last year’s draft, led the NFL with 22 interceptions.

The Browns are still expected to select a quarterback with the No. 1 overall pick.

Cornerback Richard Sherman was released by the Seahawks, making him a free agent that Seattle will attempt to re-sign at a reduced price. Sherman, who turns 30 at the end of the month, is recovering from a season-ending Achilles tendon injury and was owed $13 million in the final year of his contract.

“They wanted the financial flexibility going into free agency but expressed that they wanted me to return,” Sherman told the NFL Network.
