Freshened Colcord enters new phase

-

Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Beck and wife Marissa

Ribisi have sold their Gerard Colcord-designed home in Brentwood for $3.44 million.

Set on a tree-filled acre in Mandeville Canyon, the 1964 Brittany Tudor has been refreshed and

updated inside and out. Features include exposed brickwork, halftimbering and thick hand-hewn beams that top the main living areas. Large picture windows bring leafy views into the living room, which has a brick fireplace.

Upstairs, the home’s dormer windows create a space for a desk and reading area. Three bedrooms, two full bathrooms and an office also lie on the second floor. A guest/bonus room with open and beamed ceilings sits above the detached garage.

Patios, lawn, mature trees and hedges fill the grounds. Also incorporated

in the redesigned landscaping is a private trail that runs up the back hillside.

Richard Stearns and Carrie Berkman Lewis of Pacific Union International were the listing agents. David Offer of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties represented the buyer.

Beck, 47, won an album of the year Grammy in 2014 for “Morning Phase.” His 13th studio album, “Colors,” is set for release this month. Ribisi, a 43-year-old actress, has film credits that include “Dazed and Confused” (1993) and

“True Crime” (1999).

The couple bought the house two years ago from directorscreenwriter James Mangold and producer Cathy Konrad for $3.15 million.
