Bill would give sex abuse victims more time to sue

Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder is expected to sign into law bills inspired by the Larry Nassar scandal, including one that would give childhood sexual abuse victims more time to sue. Michigan’s current cutoff to file a lawsuit is generally a victim’s 19th birthday. The state Senate passed a bill Tuesday that would allow people who were sexually abused as children to sue until their 28th birthdays or three years from when they realized they had been abused.

Ukraine’s Dmytro Badanov has been banned for life and fined $100,000 by an independen­t hearing officer after being found guilty of tennis match fixing. Badanov, 30, was found to have broken rules of the Tennis Anti-Corruption Program by fixing the outcome of two matches on the ITF Futures tour, in Tunisia in September 2015 and in Egypt in September 2016.

He was also convicted of being involved in betting linked to the matches.

Tide freshmen Wilson Furr and Davis Shore won both their matches, and Alabama swept Duke in the semifinal to reach the final against Oklahoma State in the NCAA men's golf championsh­ip in Stillwater, Okla.

Oklahoma State freshman Austin Eckroat made a six-foot birdie on the final hole Tuesday morning to send the Cowboys into the semifinals, and he won the decisive match in the afternoon in a 3-2 victory over Auburn.

U.S. Amateur champion Doc Redman is leaving Clemson after two seasons to go pro. Redman was a sophomore who helped the Tigers finish 13th at the NCAA championsh­ips this season.

He was scheduled to play the Memorial Tournament in Ohio as an amateur invitee after his USGA title last August. That will now be his first event as a pro.

Kentucky dismissed safety Marcus Walker following his arrest on charges of traffickin­g cocaine and marijuana.

Forward Juwan Morgan is withdrawin­g from the NBA draft and returning to Indiana for his senior season . ... Former Maryland star Cliff Tucker of El Paso was killed in a West Texas traffic accident that left two other passengers dead. Tucker played four seasons with the Terps.

Former Dodger Jerry Royster was hired as baseball coach at Sierra Canyon in Chatsworth. Royster replaces Rick Weber, who was 165-43 in seven seasons.
